About

I have been involved in various forms of photography for many years. My black and white traditional photography has documented my travels and my views of my hometown, New York. I love color, and I have developed a way to bring color into these images, not in a journalistic way, but as a symbolic rendering of what I read into these images. This is done using toners and oil paints. I call these colored images textured photography because the final product is a result of an overlaying of various techniques, interweaving traditional darkroom methods, toner manipulation, fatiguing processes and oils to create a woven image.
Besides that I use digital photography to chronicle my experiences, and to create new images on the computer, such as the jumble of faces on this webblog home page. I use these images for the design of bookcovers and for other layouts.
Over the years I have shown my works in galleries in New York and elsewhere.I have had my own shows at Spiral Flight Gallery in Washington, D.C. and twice at Ashawagh Hall in Easthampton, New York, as well as at the Romanian Cultural Center in Manhattan.
